My Dad's Comanche - Repaint Request

Post by skyarrow1 »

I would really appreciate it if someone could do a repaint to match my dad's Comanche 250... spent many hours as the autopilot.

Please email me for photos. Seems I cannot post them here, they are too large.

She was a beautiful plane. The new owner has not kept her up and the paint is really bad. Engine is good, but it would take a total re-paint to get her back to looking good. My dad had other planes after that, but never found one he liked better. This is a great way for me to remember those great memories in that plane...

Mike,

If noone else has done it yet, I will be delighted to make this paint for you! Do you have any other images, perhaps of the other side, the underside, for example? If not that is still fine, but I'll have to guess what is and isn't there! Additionally, are there any images of the real aircraft? This would help me better gauge the colours used and try and create a more accurate paint for you.

I will get started and let you know about progress.

Alright, first draft is in:

http://imgur.com/a/BGRxe

I tried to give a variety of view angles to show off all the different parts of the plane.

Please note that this is not yet finished, I still have to:

- Darken the prop spinner
- Work on the thin red strip that goes above the gold paint on the fuselage
- Realign some bits (tip tank ends, intake area)
- Decide if that's the right shade of gold and red
- Add registration number
- Make gold paint shinier (but that's up to you, let me know)

If you would like to add anything to this list please feel free to do so as you probably know the aircraft better than me. For example, is there a registration underneath the wing? Also, do you have a preferred font for the registration?

Regards,

Max

Sorry, no other photos. The bottom was all white, except for a few oil streaks... :-)

Your first draft looks great. I cannot thank you enough for doing this.

I have no idea what font you would use... There were no numbers or different colors on the bottom of the wings. This is looking really good...!
