Default Accusim is "Realistic?"

Post by Taka taka »

I posted here since I was in the Comanche.

I got lost in fog, had not been using the GPS. Dialed my way points in and found myself close in to the fence and at a 45 degree angle to the runway.
I wrestled the aircraft around and landed in the last 200' of runway.
(Absolutely should have aborted and gone around)

My plugs are a bit fouled?
I would have expected damaged to the landing gear; at the least some wear to the tires.

Are there more realistic settings than the default?

So you landed "hard"? I wonder too what it takes to damage gear or tires. I've had a couple bad landings and no damage.

Sounds like visibility was bad enough to necessitate a diversion though.

Precisely. What do I have to do to cause damage?

The entire southland is socked in. :) I went more than 50 miles off course before I noticed. I was tinkering with the GPS.

I don't imagine this does it much good, lol. I laughed so hard at this video the first time I watched it (the crash was intentional).

As long as you land on the wheels basically, no hard landing seems to damage the landing gear. I have accidentally tested this by sim spawning issues, putting the airplane some 200 ft off the ground for a plunge.
