Shift 3 Controls

Shift 3 brings up controls. I know what most option do but the - and + signs next to reset seems to do nothing noticeable for me. Whats there function ?

I'm not in front of my dev PC atm, but there is a volume control for Accu-Sim sound towards the bottom of that panel. Might this be it?

The volume +/- control in the shift 3 menu is labelled, but there's also an unlabelled (except for the tool-tip) "simulated elevator force" slider directly below it.
