Flap observation

Post by Paughco »

I've noticed subtle differences in flap behavior on the Comanche during the preflight. With a brand new airplane, when you click on the flap test, the flaps move against the stops at about 2 cycles per second. If you've been a bad boy (or girl) and let her get beyond the white arc on approach, maybe one or both of the flaps will move against the stops at about 1 cycle per second.

Hold on to your hats, boys! And keep her in that white arc when you have flaps down.

That's the first signs of a upcoming flap failure. So you might want to go and get them fixed. If the fail it'll be very hard to recover.
