Airspeed indicator to knots mod (PA24)

Hey Everyone,

Several people expressed interest in an "ASI to knots" mod for the Comanche after I created one for the Cherokee.
I wasn't really planning to make it, but I couldn't resist, so here's an "ASI to knots" mod for the Comanche.

Features:
- ASI outer scale in knots
- ASI inner scale in miles per hour
- The download contains 2 versions. One with the stock colours for the attitude indicator, one with slightly different colours.
- Additionally, I also included a panel repaint that changes the small placards to indicate speeds in knots as well.

Full installation instructions in the readme.

By the way, I'm aware that there have been discussion about the merits for mods like this one. I think the answer here is easy: if you want to use it, use it. If you don't want to use it, don't use it.
That's the beauty of our simulator environment.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll try to fix it.

I fixed the oversight with the elevator tips. In the mean time, another small oversight in the lightmap was corrected.
I updated the original download, so redownload from the link in the first post to get the fixed version.





@A2A: I noticed a very, very slight oversight in the hangar while testing this. Look at the jacks behind the elevator in both pics.

Tyrion, If I were to get you a picture, would you be able to create a working A/S from a picture of an actual PA28-180 A/S. I do not have the skills to do it myself. This forum is not allowing me to attach the 197kb picture.

This topic is for the Comanche. I also have a topic for an ASI to knots conversion for the Cherokee HERE.

That being said, I'm not really planning on doing anything else but just doing the mph to kts conversion at this time.
Also note that a repainter can only change texture-related stuff... The A2A ASI gauge is a relatively unique one (with the inner dial), and nobody can change the 3D model but the original developer.

If you really want me to look at it, you can find an email address in the readme in the downloads for these ASI mods. But I'm not making any promises. I hope you understand.

Finally managed to get this installed last night and tried a flight. Thank you very much. It is nice to have it match CF-NZB more closely and gives me a bit of peace of mind during practice approaches!

Just got the Comanche and I am leaving the airspeed in MPH. I will always remember after I got my license back in the late 70s in a Cessna 152, I joined a flying club, and the club had a C 150. I went up with a young female instructor who checked out all the pilots joining the club, and she had me do a few stalls and then a couple of touch and goes. I always prided myself in trimming my airspeeds exactly per the manual on climb out and landing. After the second touch and go, she said " You know the C 150 airspeed indicator is in MPH not Knots, you are flying a bit slow........."
