Re: Some nice Comanche paints.
The only 250 Comanche in NZ has a particularly attractive paint scheme

...it was in this original type scheme...

The NZ one looks great in both schemes, although I prefer the red. Btw, the (missing) divider in the windshield- is that the exact same model, just different production years?

There are a lot of fantastic Comanche schemes out there to be painted. This is N6852P which I logged about 20hrs in when she was based at the FBO in Santa Rosa. I think she is in Minnesota somewhere now. Hopefully this scheme will make it Its a cream base with a metallic red and metallic blue-green, she always looked stunning in the sunlight.

The stunning effect of the blue paint indoors vs outdoors make this a paint I'm sure EightyFiftyFive will be all over! I've always liked this one:

I would think that would be a mod.JoeS475 wrote:The NZ one looks great in both schemes, although I prefer the red. Btw, the (missing) divider in the windshield- is that the exact same model, just different production years?

Re: Some nice Comanche paints.
Yeah various little things changed over the years with the Comanche, not to mention various owner STCs, just like the Cherokee. N6852P is a 1960, had a single piece windscreen, a standard instrument panel with radios in the center, tho the panel may have been later mod. Many old Comanches had a single brake lever for both mains, I think Scott's has toe brakes. His bit on the vibration through the lower RPMs is spot on.
Lol yes Alan is going to have a field day with spec files, lots of 'metallicy' schemes. Take a look at this beauty...

Re: Some nice Comanche paints.
Guys, how come most of the U.S. Registered Comanche's I've seen so far have a letter 'P' at the end? Scott's included. Just a Piper thing?

I would love to see Scotts "29P". It might be already included in the default package of the Comanche

I'm sure Scott's 29P paint scheme will be included. There are a few glimpses of it in the video (such as on the jacks), and the distinctive turquoise panel is also shown (at around the 13 minute mark).Marian Knöll wrote:I would love to see Scotts "29P".
