Another "Lost Engine and VC Sounds" Post

Post by Texoma »

Everything worked fine yesterday. No changes to computer.
C182

Yes, Shift 3 shows volume at 100%
Yes, sound card attached, set to primary default as it always has been.
Yes, reinstalled that Simconnect. msi file. (Maintenance shows aircraft like new.)
Yes, reinstalled OpenGL or something like that.

P3D v4 Windows 10

Same situation as others who have had this issue. Outside sounds fine, other aircraft sounds fine.
External view the engine can be heard. Just not in VC mode.

What else can I try?

check that your sound device is set as

1. default in windows (right click on speaker symbol on the task bar -> Sounds --> Playback task)
2. active in P3D (or that P3D uses the default device)
3. active in the Accusim sound device selection in the P3Dmenu bar under "addons".

and: make sure that the windows sound setting matches your situation (stereo, 5.1, 7.1)

Windows is a pain regarding that stuff... it sometimes simply changes itself, because it thinks it might suite you better.

Hello,

also check is the issue is reproducible and not just a flight corruption load issue. Make sure the 182 is not the default flight etc.

thanks,
