Redbird Alloy RD1 toe brakes.

Post by beaurice172 »

Greetings,
I received a set of Redbird Alloy RD1, rudder pedals. I have done the calibration, however, ALL my A2A aircraft have an issue with the toe brakes, and parking brakes. I do not know if this is because the left toe brake is normal, and the right has to have reverse checked, but if I release the toe brakes, the parking brake will not stay set. I have verified that none of my controllers duplicate any brake commands. Windows 10 pro. P3D v4.3. I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Hello,

are you setting the parking brake after release?

Use of the diff brakes in the sim will turn of parking brake as default behaviour of both FSX and P3D.

thanks,

Hi Lewis,

I am depressing both toe brakes, and either mouse clicking, or using keyboard command ctrl+, for the parking brake.
When I release both toe brakes, the parking brake disengages. If I then hold down the mouse, or the keyboard command, the red parking brake label, bottom left of screen, flashes on and off, and the brake handle stutters, and slowly engages. However, as soon as I let go of the mouse, or keyboard command, the parking break releases. Thanks for the help, Lewis.

Best regards,

Hello,

you don't need to depress the pedals, the movement of them going back can turn the parking brake off by default in fsx and p3d.

One thing to check though would be the aircraft config app to check your mapping and if your rudder pedals have some noise and are reporting feedback when not in use you may need to add in a slight deadzone to stop the false inputs. I remember my old CH Pedals as time went on needing deadzone adding as they where reporting slight inputs with my feet in resting position and triggering the brakes every so often.

thanks,
Lewis

I have re-calibrated, numerous times, and I still cannot set the parking brake. When both toe brakes are depressed, the red label, bottom left, shows differential, not brakes.

HHMMMM :? :)

Hello,

please re-read my posts, you don't need to depress pedals to set a parking brake by default in the FSX and P3D sim.

thanks,

Hi Lewis,
I agree with you, about the toe brakes, and setting the parking brake. I was just stating what happens when I push the toe brakes. What that means to me is that in my A2A aircraft, I have a calibration issue, with my toe brakes. You mentioned noise, so does that mean I need to create a null zone greater than a value of 1? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

I still dont quiet understand the issue, what is explained is normal. If you have parking brake on and push a pedal the sim will disengage parking brake activate differential brake and then have no brakes if you release the toe brake.
