C182 Uninstallation and Controller Problems

Post by Albrecht »

After Installation (P3Dv4) there was no reaction of input from my CH controllers for ailerons, elevator and rudder.
(But Trottle, brakes and trim wheel works fine, all axis are assigned with Fsuipc).

To make a new installation I have deleted manually the User\Albrecht\Documents\A2A Folder.
(Forgot to do this with Apps & Features (Windows 10))

I've installed and uninstalled it several times...

Now, when I uninstall the C182 with Apps & Features the entry A2A C182 remains in the list (but the C182 is unsinstalled)
If I try to uninstall it twice, I get the message "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file".

What can I do with the controller issue and install.log problem?

Thanks in advance.
Albrecht

Hello and welcome to the forums,

installing and uninstalling is not something you want to be doing to try and solve an issue, its not really a troubleshooting step till right at the end.

If you can please reinstall the first step for troubleshooting is to check you have updated to the latest version using the Accu-sim updater here;
http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 21&t=57819

Next step as you mention FSUIPC is to check you have controllers activated in the sim. If they are turned off it will not work. Our add-on's are all in one and do not need or require FSUIPC to work.

thanks,
Lewis

You should be able to force an uninstallation of the C182 by using the following steps:

1. Open a command prompt (you can access the command prompt by right clicking the Windows 10 Start Button).

2. Type in the following command and press enter: cd C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\A2A\Cessna182

3. Then type the following command and press enter: unwise.exe c182.log

Note that the path shown above is the default installation path, so you may need to customise it if you installed to a different location. The image below shows these commands for my installation:

Thanks,
Nick

I've reactivated the controllers in P3D and now all works well.
(I thought, I assigned the controllers in FSX like I did now in P3D - but obviously this was wrong).

Next I'll try to force a clean uninstallation.

Many Thanks!

Albrecht

Good to hear you are up the flying Albrecht.

We have some brand new installers coming (That Nicks been slaving away on) for P3Dv4 first that will help people out too with some nice neat new features including updates at the point of installation.

thanks,
Lewis
