Problems With A2A Aircraft

Post by Werewolf One »

Hello!:

Encountered kind of an odd problem with my A2A aircraft I am hoping someone can help with.I have FSX & "Acceleration" installed and nothing else terribly exotic.Purchased the Cessna 172 and Cessna 182 quite awhile back.Haven't been on FSX for awhile and decided to buy the Piper 180 a couple weekends ago.Had some time this weekend and went on FSX to get some time in.
When planning flights today and the Cessna 172, Cessna 182 and Piper 180 were selected, they appeared on the runway and no error messages were seen.After exiting the flight and the main screen reappears, it then "hangs", becomes non responsive, closes FSX and returns to desktop. I don't remember any problems when these aircraft were first purchased and installed.The Cessna 172 and Piper 180 seem to behave normally.However the radio stack in the 182 flickers on and off. No matter how careful I am to set the 182 up properly before starting the engine frequently fails and needs to be overhauled.Tested FSX with different aircraft and only encounter these issues when attempting to load any of the A2A aircraft.I have a bunch of hours going back to FS2002 and consider myself reasonably knowledgeable with troubleshooting minor issues but this has got me stumped.I don't plan to uninstall anything until I can get a handle on what's going on and fix it. I saw the advice given to someone else about going into "start" and checking "reliability" and included that information below.There are x5 reliability problems so I'm sorry about lengthy nature of this post.

Hello Joe and welcome to the forums,

when you installed the newer aircraft did you then re-run the Accu-sim updater?

http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 21&t=63509

That would be first step to recommend, get all updated, restart your system and then see how things are.

thanks,

Hi.
I have most of the A2A aircraft installed in FSX A on a win 7 64 bit system , and dont have issues like you are reporting , the difference between my FSX A install and yours is i did not install to default progames(86) , as this is very over protected aera , and can lead to issues , i also have everything to do with flight sim ignored by my anti virus program , and also run FSX A in windowed mode , as it is more stable than full screen mode .
I also have some tweeks to the FSX.CFG file that FSX A needs.
My tweeks are
[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=14 (ON MY SET UP)yours might be different

[GRAPHICS]
HIGHMEMFIX=1

[Display]
WideViewAspec=True (i have a wide screen monitor)

More info on your setup would help you to get better info that could help get to the bottom of your FSX A issues.
update:- on further reading of the faulting modules , shows that the AI_player and ATC.dlls are at fault not the A2A aircraft , i dont use FSX A ATC or AI traffic, as i either fly on joinFS using TS3 or i fly on VATSIM and any aircraft near me is flown by a person and ATC on VATSIM is also a real person.
When the FSX crashed was it always in same area , if so it could be caused by AI traffic and ATC in that area that could be specific to say an addon airport.
regards alan. 8)

very likely this is your problem. FSX should never be installed into the default location as the rights management of windows generates issues with the Program Files folder and the way Accusim works using Simconnect. You said there's not much you have installed additionally so I guess your best chance to get rid of the problem is to uninstal your complete FSX and reinstall it to C:\FSX
Normally a reinstallation of any addon isn't the solution but in this case, as your base simulator path is the problem, this is probably the only or best way to go.

Cheers
Marc

Absolutely no issues with my installation in the default (x86) location. Running the sim as admin is recommended regardless of install location.

I would suggest looking into applying the latest Accusin updates and ai traffic add-on issues first.

Lewis:

Thanks to you and all others for your kind replies.I'm sorry about terse/abrupt nature of initial posts just extremely frustrated.No I haven't installed latest Accusim updates.This was literally the first thing I thought of to try just couldn't figure out where they are on website.I'm assuming this is where I should start looking for solutions to the issues from what everyone is saying.Also this is a small regional airport (KTVC which is in Northwestern Lower Michigan) so there isn't much ai activity.Sorry if there is a time lag between posts on your part/responses on my own.I work nights.

Best Regards
