A2A C172 & C182 Fatal Error?

Post by Uly5 »

Hi,
I have just upgraded and built a new PC with Windows 10.

When I go to select my A2A 172 or 182 in the FSX menu the planes load in for half a sec and then FSX crashes with a "Fatal Error" message.

My other paid Aircraft all work fine.

Any Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

(sorry if I posted this in the wrong are...wasn't sure where to post it?

Hi Uly,

Which version of FSX do you have installed? Is it the Steam Edition or one of the earlier disk edition like FSX Deluxe or FSX Acceleration?

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Uly - apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Do you have the Acceleration Disk from your FSX Gold edition installed?

Thanks,
Nick

Okay, thanks Uly. Please can you check the content of past crash logs (ideally paste on the forum here). Probably the easiest way to do this is open the Windows "Reliability Monitor" and select one of the previous crash events (shown by red x icons).

Okay, thanks Uly. Please can you also just confirm if you've downloaded and installed the latest Accu-Sim update for the 172 and 182. It is available here: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 23&t=57819.

Hello,

if its crashing on selection it could be that you are missing the Direct X components. Please install the latest Direct X9;

Remember to restart the system after installation.

thanks,

You'll need to install Direct X 9, if you have a google you should come up with the correct link do this on Win10. Alternatively when you run the installer Direct X9 is included, did you skip this part?

Hi Lewis,

Yes I did skip the direct x9 install. For some reason I was under the impression that Direct X 12 had all previous versions installed with it. I skipped because I didn't want to some how corrupt my new clean install of Windows 10. My Mistake

So I ran the installer for the c182 again...and this time installed Direct X 9.

I can confirm both the A2A c172 and c182 are working perfectly :-)

I also ran the latest updater again but the updater confirmed the 172 and 182 were up to date.

Thank you very much to Nick and Lewis for the help...it was very much appreciated!!

Through this mistake I learner some new things :-)

Thanks,
Uly

Hello,

great to hear, happy flying in the virtual skies. Just for the record so its on the forums for others to see, most the Direct X are separate so 10 is just 10, 9 is 9 etc.

thanks,
