Hello,
I have logged countless hours in my 182 without the slightest issue. I plan a flight today and as soon as the screen turns black to launch the scenario the sim crashes to desktop. I have tested the sim with different airports, planes, etc...(including the A2A Connie and Comanche) and I only encounter a CTD when I attempt to load the 182. It occurs if I attempt to load the plane from the scenario page. I can choose the same scenario and spawn in with any other aircraft but when I go to switch to the 182 the crash occurs again. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. I also do not see any crash report or notification from windows. It simply closes the application and returns to desktop. No hang, no non responsive, nothing. Just straight to desktop.
Any advice on how to correct this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Re: C182 CTD
Hello,
If you can post a bit more info about the CTD and your host sim platform, it should help a bit with troubleshooting. One way to do this is to type "reliability" into the Windows search box which should take you to the reliability monitor. Here you can click on the entries for the CTDs in question to see a little more info on the faulting module name and so on.
One possible culprit may be the log.dat file for the 182 becoming corrupted. In this case, I'd recommend you delete the following file and then try reopening the sim...
My Documents\A2A\FSX\Cessna182\C182SLog.dat
Please make a back up of the file first in case you wish to restore it.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: C182 CTD
Just to add to Nicks response so far, a reinstall of the aircraft is normally one of the worst things you can do and should be a last resort of troubleshooting, as using that as step 1 can lead to more frustration and issues rather than problem solving.
If you can let us know more details such as your platform, if you where all updated, what your default flight etc and for the reinstall how you did this that would enable us to better help you.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: C182 CTD
Thank you for the responses gentleman. I am sorry about the quickness to uninstall/reinstall. I wanted to try everything I knew of before I reached out for help.
My platform is P3D v4. The CTD started occurring yesterday. The only change that I can think of that has occurred since I last flew the 182 (which was the day before this started happening) is I opted in to the ORBX fastlane beta. No other changes or installs were made to the sim.
The only way I can describe the CTD is whenever I launch a scenario with the 182 selected or if I launch the scenario with a different aircraft and then switch to the 182, the sim crashes. Originally I was not getting any notification. The sim would simply close after a few seconds. Now it seems I am getting mixed results between that and a non-responsive App hang error.
If I load any other aircraft (including other A2A products) I can fly for hours, load multiple scenarios back to back, etc.. with absolutely no issue.
Below is what I get from the "reliability" monitor:

Re: C182 CTD
Lewis,
Regarding the updater. Is the A2A_Update_04_13_17 the latest installer for the tool? I believe I saw something within the updater that mentions FSX/P3D v1-3 but no mention of v4.

Re: C182 CTD
Thanks for the extra info. If you're using P3DV4, no need to run the Accu-Sim update as the 182 P3Dv4 installer was compiled more recently than the update.
However, did you try deleting the C182SLog.dat file as described above? No guarantee this will help, but it's probably worth a try. If you do this, the Accu-Sim module should generate a new 'fresh' *.dat file when you first load the aircraft.

Re: C182 CTD
I did Nick. I removed the file and tried again. No luck.
I went into Documents\A2A\FSX\Cessna182 and removed the .dat file.
I attempted to launch a scenario and sim crashed again.
I went back into Documents\A2A\FSX\Cessna182 and a new .dat file was never written

Re: C182 CTD
Okay, thanks for confirming anyway - Hopefully Lewis has a better suggestion. For what it's worth, I opted in to the Orbx fastlane thing a while ago without any apparent issues.

Re: C182 CTD
Just saw that bit you added. Presumably the software is closing (crashing) before it can write a new file to this location. You could try renaming one of the other files by removing the ".bak" suffix, but I suspect that won't help either.Bucnatic60 wrote:I went back into Documents\A2A\FSX\Cessna182 and a new .dat file was never written

Re: C182 CTD
Thanks for the assistance Nick.
I hope you are right and Lewis & team can come up with a solution. I would be devastated if I loss the use of one of my favorite planes.

Hello,
what is the default flight you are using?
Are you using the P3Dv4 182 and not an earlier product?
thanks,
Lewis

Re: C182 CTD
Hi Lewis,
The default flight for my v4 sim is ICAO: KVPS, plane: LM F-16C, real time, AS weather theme. If I choose this scenario with any plane other than the 182 the scenario launches just fine. After spawning in, if I try to switch planes to the 182, the sim crashes. If I choose the 182 and then launch the scenario the sim crashes. This has been consistant for any scenario combination I use.
I am using the v4 182. I originally bought the plane during the v3 era. I have had the 182 in v4 since the day the 182 became available for v4. I have never had an issue with the plane outside the nav and beacon lights I mentioned to you in discord awhile back (which has since been fixed). The only change to the sim that was made since the last flight in the 182 was the opt into ORBX fastlane beta and the installation of many ORBX airports.

When you reinstalled did you just run the uninstaller or did you also delete any left overs?
