Just Bought the A2A 182 - Help[ !!!!! Lol !

Post by Gabe777 »

OK,

I have a couple of question I hope someone can help me with:

1. As the Accusim model has a menu for setting joystick assignments etc., is it ok to just leave it all blank, as I use FSUIPC for everything ?

2. Are any other liveries such as a British number, available anywhere - nothing personal !

3. Given there is a sort of built in damage and wear model, how should I set the FSX settings relating to Damage / Collisions etc. etc., OR does it get overridden ?

Thank you.

Yes but I'm afraid it is essential reading. These aircraft are not "jump in and fly" but you will be rewarded by a great experience and I hope an eagerness to fly it correctly.
Your first remark I bet will be."It pulls to the left"
That is what the real ones do too.

Cheers Chris

Leave it blank if you use fsuipc.

A bunch of liveries can be found online. Search A2A c182 repaints.

I have damaged tucked in fax and realism sliders maxed

Well, until I get some rudder pedsls - which I am now seriously considering - no pulling to the left here ! Auto rudder puts pay to that, but I must say, those rudder pedals are teasing my credit card ! This is the first addon I've ever had that made me even think about it.

Just a case of Saitek vs Thrustmaster.....oh decisions !

I like that you have to constantly be considering: prop pitch, MP, mixture and cowl flaps, as well as pitch and bank....adding in rudder and having to trim both elevator and rudder, makes me feel that it could demand more 'work' than flying some of my jets....which to be honest fly themselves from take off to landing and I just go off for a bath !

My Embraer E Jet 195, will literally fly itself from 400ft AGL after takeoff. On approach, you configure it correctly, and then it will flare, deploy spoilers, and retard throttles. You just brake at 40 mph and taxi in. Done !

You do need those pedals ASAP as having the in sim auto rudder feature on does cause problems with most realistic flight model aircraft and should always be turned off!

Oh, really. That much ?

Oh dear..... I'm cooking dinner tonight then, after I've done all the chores and gone to the garage (" gas station") for some flowers.... jeeze this Accusim stuff is costing me a bunch !

Well, when I told her ZI was buying a Cessna 182, she googled it and said ... " they're over 150,000 bucks !", so she may not mind another 80 or so......snigger !

The aircraft input config only apply to the aircraft it is designed for so you can still use it, we recommend using it over FSUIPC where possible as we designed the software and its not relying on third party, FSUIPC user for example had trim issues that needed tweaking and work arounds when only using FSUIPC and not the input config for mapping.

A great site for repaint listing is not only the C182 forum (ill move this thread there after I post) but also this community one created by a forum member here, with 172, 182, cherokee etc repaints listed but also great sceneries;

I see you have the manual sorted, at the beginning of the manual are the required/recommended settings for you.

thanks,

Thnx for that.

I am having some issues with joystick calibration using fsuipc.

Trimmimg is rather clunky and aircraft is banking very slightly to right.....all time.

If I have auto rudder on, it shouldn't be should it ? I think it is a calibration issue. It's the age old issue of too much or too little deadzone in cheap controllers. This really becomes an issue on sensitive realistic addons....my Saitek x52 pro is brand new, but still rubbish.

May try the built in configurator, as I set fsuipc for each addon seperately.

This simulation is much more realistic and the aircraft is never ever going to be perfectly stable in cruise even if you unplug the controller to eliminate all calibration issues. The only easy to get hands free flying is to engage the autopilot, which is exactly how it is in real life.
