Cessna 182 installer issue

Post by adrians69 »

Hi there, I have the Cessna 182 Skylane for FSX and I run Win 10. Whenever I try to run the installer, it gets to 14% complete and then I get an error message saying that the installation file is corrupt. I have tried running it from different drives on the PC, turning off Win Defender anti virus and Smart Screen, ran SFC and chkdsk as suggested by Microsoft and even booted into safe mode to try it that way. It will not get past 14% no matter what I do and I get the corrupt install file message which asks me to obtain another copy of the file, which I have also done numerous times. This installer ran perfectly well in Win 7. Please can you help?

Thanks in advance

Adrian

Hello,

if you are using a download manager you might want to try disabling that to download. Also check you are an administrator and no anti-virus software etc is not interrupting your installation.

thanks,

Hi Lewis, I have solved the problem as it seems MS Edge is at fault. I downloaded it with Internet Explorer and the installation worked perfectly well. Maybe worth keeping in mind in case any other users have the same issue. Thanks for the reply.

Good to hear Adrian,

I think most users tend to use Chrome and other browsers due to there better speed and features anyway. I cannot recommend them enough over the often buggy ones that come with the OS.

thanks,
