P3D V4 Problems with install

Post by Indy »

Good evening. I tried for 2 hours last evening to install the 182. I run P3D on my "P" drive (an SSD) That is the home for all my P3D. I guess I am not installing correctly? I'm getting no sound at all. I see the plane but I have no clue if its even installed correctly. Any help?

Thank you!
Indy
Matt

Hello Matt,

first thing to ask is if you are you using the P3Dv4 C182 software or trying to use the old P3Dv3 software which is not compatible with P3Dv4.

thanks,

It's for sure P3Dv4. That's the file name.

Second question is therefore: Have you got the sound selections in the sim set to the correct devices? And not muted?

I tried installing in the default directory as noted and had the same problems. The 74 and 777 sounds work. I see my sound card listed and checked. The plane shows up in v4 (I have no other sim installed) and I've checked the mute.

Hello,

so the default is C:/documents etc

Is the system default sound device turned on?

Is the volume turned up on the shift + 3 panel?

Do you get external sound?

thanks,

C drive yes, default sound yes, volume is 100, external sound yes. however this plane does not show up on my "p" drive main folder of P3D and under simObjects/airplanes its not there.

Ok, so you installed it to your my docs correct?

I am confused as you say you did this then mention the P drive again?

Are you aware of how add-ons work for P3Dv4?

Have you setup a custom add-on directory?

During the installation process the instructions detailed what to do and offered the option for a custom install. If you are not familiar with the change in add-on procedure for P3Dv4 then you will want to consult your P3D documentation.

I did the default install. the "c" drive my P3D is on my "P" drive. I did not do a custom install. I just check the PMDG aircraft. I hear them fine.

OK great. Ignore the other aircraft as they are not relevant.

In the sim can you change parts and access and work the maintenance hanger?

Is your systems default sound device set correctly in your windows settings and did turned on and volume up. The Accu-sim sound engine plays through the systems default sound device.

I've moved nothing. Only thing I've done was uninstall 4 times. Something just looks strange the way this installs into the Docs.

When I open the p3d Add-one folder, go to a2a listed is:
A2A
Effects
Fonts
Gauges
Scripts
SimObjects
Add-on
