I'm not asking A2A to provide technical support for EZDOK, but just wondering if anyone has seen this before and if there is a way to resolve it.
c182 In P3Dv4.
External views in EZDOKv1 and V2.
1. Front view (facing the aircraft). Prop is totally transparent when engine running (missing texture?)
2. Aircraft is empty (no Pilot or Passengers).
3. Movement in external view appears to be rotated 90deg (Up moves right, Right moves down etc etc)
4. There's something wrong with the cowl openings just behind the prop.
Chaseplane seems to work fine.

Re: P3Dv4 - c182 Missing Prop with EZDOK external view
Is Ezdok even P3Dv4 compatible?
Remember shoehorning various non P3Dv4 add-ons in will only make your simulation experience unstable.
thanks,
Lewis

Version 2.5 is Lewis; it was released by the developer as an open beta a week or so ago.Lewis - A2A wrote:Is Ezdok even P3Dv4 compatible?
Smoothflight - I see you've posted on the EZdok software forum. Interested to see what sort of a response you get. I'm cautiously hopeful that we may see some action from the developer to resolve EZCA/A2A conflicts now he's back in the picture. These issues are caused by conflicting "HotKeySelect = 4" entries and if you run the "EZCA 2 Config Tool" it will generally just unceremoniously remove these entries from any aircraft.cfg files it finds. The trouble is, this breaks the A2A pre-flight inspection view sequencing.
Version 2 onwards of EZCA seems more intolerant of this conflicting setting in aircraft.cfg files than v1.18. I think the new P3D v.4 external add-on locations may also be confusing the EZCA Config tool when it looks for aircraft.cfg files.
I'll drop by the EZCA forum sometime and see if I can raise the issue with the developer...
Thanks,
Nick

Re: P3Dv4 - c182 Missing Prop with EZDOK external view
It looks like EZDOK external cam AND A2A Walkaround both use HotKeySelect=4.
So there is a conflict.
Either EZDOK or A2A need to find an alternative hotkey or some other mechanism to co-exist.
It will be interesting to see who blinks first.

I'd say the onus is on the EZCA devs as the v.2 product is in beta. Anyway, I see one of their testers posted:

Let's hope this is a proper fix and not just a P3Dv4 compatible means of finding aircraft.cfg files and deleting conflicting "HotKeySelect = 4" entries from them!Nickbe wrote:Very soon will be available for public beta test the next build EZCA2. Fixed problem with A2A and other aircraft. Soon.

Hmm, looks like either EZDOK(2) or A2A are going to have to use a different HotKeySelect value if they want to co-exist.
If somehow it was user configurable, we could mitigate these sorts of conflicts ourselves.

Re: P3Dv4 - c182 Missing Prop with EZDOK external view
Thanks Nick,
BTW, EZDOKv1 seems to work fine with P3Dv4 (except for the world cam function, whereby I have deleted the variables.ini file in the hope that EZDOKv1 wont write to an obscure memory address within P3Dv4)
You just need to copy across the camera.cfg file from V3 to V4. (Keeping a copy of the original V4 file, of course, as it has extra new "VR camera" definitions which may be needed at some point.)
EZDOKv1 has the same HKS=4 issue tho.

Re: P3Dv4 - c182 Missing Prop with EZDOK external view
I just noticed that FSX, P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 assign HKS=4 to a "top down view" camera by default, so I'm surprised that EZDOK AND A2A use HKS=4 in any case.
