Re: fly with autopilot
Hello Menachem,
Not 100% sure I understand your post, but if you're asking whether the autopilot has "control wheel steering" (whereby the yoke can be used to turn the aircraft whilst the AP is engaged in a vertical mode), then no, it doesn't. I believe this is an optional feature of the KAP 140 which isn't modelled.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: fly with autopilot
The 182 features a KAP140 2-axis autopilot so you can use that as a wing leveller, or to follow a course from either a NAV source such as a radial from a VOR or from the GPS. Heading mode (HDG) will track your heading bug on the DI (or the HSI if you are using that instead).
Altitude hold and vertical speed can also be used. Just like the real thing.. recommend reading up on the KAP140 from the official manual because using it in real life requires a few extra steps in your check-lists. You can find the manual here: https://www.bendixking.com/HWL/media/PD ... KAP140.pdf

Re: fly with autopilot
When the KAP140 autopilot is active the pilot can no longer use the yoke. The pilot must make altitude and heading changes through the autopilot while it remains engaged.
As suggested, a read of the real manual is important to understand how to use the unit.

Re: fly with autopilot
Having problem with autopilot/C182 P3D V4. Set heading bug, AP set and hdg selected. Autopilot doesn't engage 'bug' heading and continues to turn left until autopilot disengaged. Also some problems with altitude selection. All other P3D V4 default aircraft and autopilots work without problems.
Checked KAP140 manual but no help and have re-installed the C182.
