Skylane Elevator Trim Wheel Not Working In Model

Post by mickp »

Flying the A2A Skylane in P3D V3 (latest update) the elevator trim wheel abruptly stopped working mid flight.

This has been working since initial installation in October 2016.

I thought the cause was with the Saitek Trim Wheel but it continues to work perfectly with RealAir Turbo Duke and Carenado CJ2.

The trim wheel will rotate in the model but the white mark stays in a constant position indicating slightly nose down and vibrates as the Saitek Trim Wheel is turned.

Disconnecting the Saitek and applying key commands or the mouse wheel has no effect the wheel in the model will not function, the rudder trim however works perfectly.

Has anyone experienced the same? or have any idea on how to remedy the situation.

I have uninstalled and installed the A2A Skylane, the problem persists.

Help.

Check the circuit breakers.
Have you applied the latest update and have you checked the maintenance hangar for any issues?

How stupid am I, yes I ignored the realism of A2A that I love so much, the problem was to be found in the Maintenance Hangar.
Lesson learnt, thanks for your quick response.

Remember those pre-flight workarounds, sounds like you may have caught that one. A failure you can spot in the pre-flight walk around might not show up till in flight or even several flights so always worth a go over.

thanks,
