Cessna 182 Prop Control Knob Problem

Post by catmar1944 »

FSX Acceleration on a Windows 7 Ultimate OS.
Latest update applied.
Saitek X55 Throttle, Stick and rudder
Paid version FSUIPC

As far as I can remember this problem has only surfaced since applying the new update, but I would not swear on it?

When reducing RPM using either mouse or the default Control F2 keys the Blue Prop Control Knob returns immediately back to the fully in position
so I am unable to set RPM. The Mixture and throttle are fine, it's just the Prop Control Knob.

Checked for conflicts in FSUIPC none found, checked the configurator, nothing set, Checked all options in the Control menus so I am at a loss at what the cause is so anyone any idea?

Hi .
The F2 key is throttle decrese quickly not prop control .
I have tried both mouse and my CH quad on all 3 knobs , and they all work ok , and mine is to the latest update.
I have FSUIPC licenced version FSX+accelleration on win7.
I would check again for conflicts or mouse / stick mal functions.
regards alan. 8)

Hello Alan, mine worked okay too, it's only recently that this problem has been showing.
No it's Control Key Plus F2 and Control Key Plus F3 for decrease and increase Prop RPM, I know F2
on it's own is throttle. I will check again for conflicts to be safe.

Thanks

That HAS to be a conflict.

Indeed you are right. When I flew this aircraft a few months ago I had set up the two rotary controls on the X55 for the prop pitch and the mixture duh!
so forgetful me forgot about it as the rotaries were set up on the axis section, I checked it after Alan said he uses the same setup and his was fine, then
of course I remembered. I put it down to age and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for the responses as I may not have remembered without the memory jolts.
