Hi Guys,
Have a small issue with the landing lights on the C182. They are fine at night, but during the daylight hours, the volumetric cone effect is missing.
If I use the preview time feature in P3D and fast forward to dusk, it comes back and both landing and taxi lights illuminate the ground. Not sure if it is supposed to be this way.
I have the B17, Comanche, Texan and Spitfire installed and the lights display correctly with the light cone at any time of day or night. I tried to find the answer on the forums but was unsuccessful in doing so.
I am running P3D v3.4 in W10.
Thanks,
Mat

Hello,
it depends on how you load the aircraft the effect is changed depending on time of day so you don't get full cones in the day. The P3D live time change will probably not fully work with this as the time change doesn't reload the aircraft or its systems.
thanks,
Lewis

Hi Mat,
I don't have P3D, but you may try these steps here:

Re: A2A C182 landing lights
Thanks for your replies chaps.
I think that there maybe something wrong with my P3D install as now the Texan has the issue as well, but the Spit and B17 show light cones during the day.
I could understand if all aircraft exhibited the same effects (or lack thereof), but it seems a bit inconsistent.
I think the problem is at my end rather than anything wrong with the aircraft as it doesn't seem a common topic on the forum.
I may reinstall P3D over the weekend.
Many thanks,
Mat

Re: A2A C182 landing lights
I would offer that the lights without cones looks much more realistic in the daytime. I would expect cones only if there was mist or fog. In fact, even at night I wouldn't expect a cone on the smaller GA aircraft as the lights are no more powerful than a standard car headlamp. They just aren't that bright.
I can't comment on the consistency of the effect however, as I don't own these models.

Re: A2A C182 landing lights
That's a valid point, to be fair. I set weather to 'grey and rainy' in P3D and the cones reappeared in the C182 during the day.
I think that I just wanted to make sure everything was working ok.
Thanks for your observation.
