Strange engine behavior on all A2A aircrafts

Post by allergiecheck »

All of a sudden I experience a very strange effect in ALL A2A aircrafts, first showing up in the new C182:
The engine rpm is oscillating from low to high in 1 second intervall, and the plane is also moving forth and back slightly. I can fly the plane, but it is very strange I get motion sick ;-)
If I go to outside view, you really hear the engine sound going low and high in 1 second intervals, you do not hear it in the cabin however, just feel the plane oscillating.

What I tried so far:
- reinstalling the C182 - no effect
- reset the plane in the shift+2 menu - no effect
- deleting the accusim dat file in my_documents - no effect

What else can I do? Currently I cannot use any of my 3 A2A planes (172, 182 and Piper 180), they all have the same error, so I guess it is a corrupted file within Accusim core?
All default and Carenado plane work as always.

Thanks for helping me out...I have hundreds of hours in the A2A plane and I really want to get them back and working properly.

Hello,

What changed on your system between it working and not working?

Thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis,

I restored a backup of my FSX disk yesterday and had the same problem...so I investigated further - and found that I accidentally switched the tank selector on my PFC Cirrus II flight console into the "off" position. After moving it back to "both", everything works fine again :D
Usually this tank selector does not have an effect on most 3rd party planes, but here it had...

Cheers, Thomas

Good to hear, sounds like a controller conflict somewhere on your system but glad you are up and flying

thanks,

Hey,

I've had this problem too. I recorded the problem. I was cruising at 15,500 when this happened. The
camera moving in and out happened 3 times on this trip. First it was much slower rate, the last 2 were
like this.

Dropbox Video: It doesn't seem to want to embed. So click link to view it.

Just after this, this black screen appeared, and took me awhile to get rid of it. The only way to remove it was to
put FSX in desktop mode and undock the black screen, and move it off the monitor. That allowed me to continue
the flight in desktop mode.

The only thing that has changed in my FSX over the last few months is I added Orbx Northern California,
and Orbx Global Base, and of course the A2A Cessna 182T. Nothing else has changed.

So I was doing some reading on here looking for possible causes, and it could be the two issues are related to
a previous post on the black screen being an hypoxia state. This makes me wonder if the camera moving in
and out is a prelude to that. However I've been using Microsofts Flight Sims since 1983, and have never seen
this before. So it has me a bit stumped.

Hope someone can shed some light.

You simply ran out of oxygen 8) You can't fly at this altitude without having continuous oxygen supply. You have to wait for the C182 possibly to be upgraded with an oxygen system with one of the future updates.

Welcome to Accu-sim.

This is their hypoxia simulation at work.

Yeh that seems to be the concensus. lol Shame it can be so easily
side stepped by moving to desktop mode (not fullscreen) and undocking
the black screen. However I guess there's no other way to do it.

Would prefer they just add oxygen bottles.

Well that's your choice to move the blackout effect and fly at heights not realistically flown without at least portable systems on board and in use.
