Unable to make Cessna 182 start and controlers not seen

Post by peterok »

Hi Lewis
wish me luck on starting a new topic. I am in IT service but not good on BBS's
New here and new to the A2A products.
I recently purchased the Cessna 182 academic version to install in my P3D V2 Academic program.
The A2A Cessna 182 appears to install normally except to a reference to installing .net.
I tried with and with out .net install. PC running Win7 64bit
When loaded in P3D the A/C displays normally but will not start even with auto start, which I assume is similar to the normal start of less sofisticated A/C in P3d.
Some functions operate via the mouse but unable the make the panel live.
Neither my CH Products Flightstick Pro or Saitek Rubber pedals are active.

The A2A configuration throws up various errors if I try to run it from the program menu, looking for MS Flightsim?? as best I can tell.
I do not have MS Flightsim installed only P3D V2

Also logged in to the order status page a couple of times and notice my download count reduced by one each time. Downloaded once and the remaining count is now 2.

I guess the question is what have I stuffed up, and I did read the manual!!
I have some hours in real 182s and am looking forward to getting this going.
Not sure if you need any additional sig information, as per orbx.
Peter

Hello

Can you please see the troubleshooting FAQ, it sounds like your P3D needs simconnect manually installing.

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis
thanks for the pointer, problem appears to be resolved. My PC was a build up a little while back and has never had FSX installed and was missing the second simconnect program.
Fixed as per MAZO's post from 2011!!
"Go into "Control Panel"\"Uninstall a program". Under the Microsoft entries you will (or should) see two SimConnect entries:
Microsoft ESP SimConnect Client V1.0.20.0
Microsoft Flight Simulator SimConnect Client V10.0.61259.0
Do Not Click on it or it will start the removal process!!

If you don't see the Flight Simulator SimConnect, here is how to install it from your P3DV2.X installation.
P3D V2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi
Click on the .msi file, and it will install SimConnect version V10.0.61259.0 which is for FSX SP2 \Acceleration. The Accu-Sim A2A aircraft need this version even though you are running P3DV2.X.
Again look at the Remove a Program to verify that you have both SimConnect versions installed. Your A2A aircraft should work correctly now."

All good now, a quick flight, really impressed. Now off to bed as it is 2315 here!!

Thank you kindly gents--you just saved a fair bit of time digging about. I loaded the C182--and was promptly informed by the maintenance hangar that I'd, well, essentially blown the thing up. Hadn't even left the ground once!! :)
