Issue Starting Aircraft - Uninstall and Reinstall

Post by kiwikat »

Just thought I'd let you know I had the same problem as this person had with the 172. http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 08&t=42851

I tried starting it by the book a dozen times and it just wouldn't start. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and got her started up on the first try. Not sure what the deal is. :?:

Time to get her in the air finally!

Starts for me on the first try after I uninstall and reinstall. Not sure I want to do that every time though.

I too have had this issue, two flights now and I haven't been able to manually start it either time. Auto start works. I also had this issue on the last time I flew the 172...just thought it might have been something to do with having not flown it in some time.

Hey guys,

If auto start works then there is nothing wrong with the aircraft. Auto start simply runs through the procedure the pilot normally would to start the aircraft.

Make sure to preflight the aircraft, remember that engine temps and environmental conditions can dictate the engine start procedure. If you flood the engine leave it a while or give it a nice whack of throttle to blow her out depending on how flooded she is.

Thanks,
Lewis

Looks like I flooded mine very easily. Did what Lewis said and it started fine. I left it for about 5 minutes, then gave it half throttle. Maybe it's not as cold as I thought

Also, if you think you've flooded the engine you can go to the maint. hangar and click on the engine cowling. If it's flooded it will show it in red on the injectors. Ask me how I know this

I've started her up successfully now about a half dozen times since my last reinstall so I think it is working properly now. I don't have a clue what was happening before.

New here and new to the A2A products.
I recently purchased the Cessna 182 academic version to install in my P3D V2 Academic program.
The A2A Cessna 182 appears to install normally except to a reference to installing .net.
I tried with and with out .net install. PC running Win7 64bit
When loaded in P3D the A/C displays normally but will not start even with auto start, which I assume is similar to the normal start of less sofisticated A/C in P3d.
Some functions operate via the mouse but unable the make the panel live.
Neither my CH Products Flightstick Pro or Saitek Rubber pedals are active.

The A2A configuration throws up various errors if I try to run it from the program menu, looking for MS Flightsim?? as best I can tell.
I do not have MS Flightsim installed only P3D V2

Also logged in to the order status page a couple of times and notice my download count reduced by one each time. Downloaded once and the remaining count is now 2.

I guess the question is what have I stuffed up, and I did read the manual!!
I have some hours in real 182s and am looking forward to getting this going.
Not sure if you need any additional sig information, as per orbx.
Peter
