Ok, forgive me for starting a new thread if it's already out there but I couldn't find it.
I am trying to add a camera on the deck of the office trailer at my airport. It's a nice little airport on the east coast of Florida. Valkaria (X59)
I have seen a couple tutorial web sites and have attempted to create it with no success to this point. I first was changing the camera.cfg file but just recently learned that when I load my skylane the airplane.cfg file loads, thus over-riding the camera.cfg views. Is this correct?
But my big question at this point is, to me, the mysterious GUID={}
What is this and where/how do I get one? How unique must it be? Just in my pc or throughout the universe?
I'm lost again....
Roger

Re: Adding an external camera view to airplane.cfg for my C1
Hi Roger
I find this page rather useful: http://www.fstipsandaddons.com/tutorial ... meras.html and for the GUID's, I use this one: https://guidgenerator.com/
I did think about buying the chase plane addon, but I think I'll wait until the final version is out. Froogle made a nice video on it:
And a comparison between Chase Plane and EZdoc:

Pick your weapon of choice and get on with it. I recently formatted my HD and forgot to save my homemade cameras....really want Chase Plane...

Tomas, Thanks. Yes that is a good tutorial. Didn't know about the guidgenerator. Does it really have to be so unique?Tomas Linnet wrote:Hi Roger

Re: Adding an external camera view to airplane.cfg for my C1
Ok.. been doing some research...
InitialXyz is defined as the camera XYZ position offset from the default location in meters.
How do I know what the default location is???
I had some luck creating an outside camera specific to my C182 only.
Now I want to create rear seat views. If I create them in Origin = Virtual Cockpit and then assign a specific XYZ offset then what is the reference to this offset? Is 0,0,0 between the front headrests?
Blue skies my friends and I am always grateful for your help.
Roger
