Navlights/Beacon

Post by bribeth »

I apologize if I missed this post, but I have the upgrade for V4 and (182). The beacon is non existent and the Nav lights are extremely dim. Was there a fix for this that I missed? Thank you in advance.

Hello Brian,

No - A2A haven't released the first Accu-Sim update for the P3DV4 products yet. However, I just took a look, and this one is simple to fix by editing the relevant *.fx files in the "Effects" folder so that they correctly invoke the 182 light textures, not the 172 textures which is the current issue.

In case the official update is still a few weeks off, here's a 'hotfix'. Replace your current *.fx files with these ones and it should resolve the issue.

The default location of the "Effects" folder for a P3DV4 installation is: "My Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\Effects". As always with such unofficial fixes, please back-up the original *.fx files just to be safe.

Cheers,
Nick

You're welcome. :)

Should work fine, provided you unzipped the *.fx files and placed them in the P3DV4 "Effects" folders, overwriting the existing files of the same name.

P.S. Actually, I'm a bit suspicious of your post as you seem to have inserted an ad link into the quoted text!
