Structural Damage Features or lack of.

Post by trevor_ledet »

Don't laugh because this plane is so well done I am not sure where the realism ends.

Does the C182 have the ability to show structural landing gear damage and if so how do you repair it?

I have had some hard landings trying to get used to the sensitivities and doing the walk around it appears to have a crack in the area behind the front wheel.

But the hanger app does not have an option to repair structural damage.

Sorry if this is stupid questions. Searched forum and plane manual did not see anything.

Just want to make sure you don't simulate a crash because of lack of repair.

Amazing fun over the stock FSX planes.

I had the same thought after a few hard touch downs.
No damage to the airframe ever.

I really would hope this might be an area for expansion of the accufeel aspect. Strut damage, need to replace tires etc.
I have suffered damage to the flaps, but that's about it.
Once I changed the plugs I never have had foiled them since.

No damage in that area, sounds like you might just have a slight bit of wear on the repaint itself

thanks,

Thinking along similar lines, has anyone damaged the landing gear on the Comanche? Given that it's a retractable, I'd a'thunk that it should have a damage component in the Accusim module for that plane. I'd test it, but I can't bear to inflict such torture on my beloved Comanche  .

I imagine that the Cherokee and 172, being fixed gear, are similarly unafflicted?

Cheers,
Mike

Hard landings don't seem to harm the Comanche's landing gear either. I don't know if it can be damaged from overspeed or "wear & tear" though.
