C182 Skylane Not following F1 GTN750 Pd3 V3.4

Post by williammccracken »

I recently purchased the C182 and installed the F1 GTN750. I have the GTN750 in the radio stack. Programmed a flight so far so good. Set the altitude to 5000 in the auto pilot. Set GPS/NAV switch to GPS. After takeoff tried to turn on AP, ALT, NAV. Nothing in the AP gauge worked.

What am I missing?

Thank You.

Hello Bill,

The thing you may be missing is that it's necessary to press and hold the AP button for 0.25 seconds in order to engage it. This is a reflection of a safety feature which was added to the real KAP 140 autopilot.

In the sim, this translates to a slightly prolonged mouse click on the button in the cockpit.

Welcome to the forums by the way. If you haven't already, you should also apply the latest Accu-Sim update, even for a new purchase.

Cheers,
Nick

P.S. The NAV/GPS switch on the panel is inoperative with either of the GTN units properly installed. Instead, switching the guidance source is done via the GTN's screen.

...Edited to undo autocorrect 'corrections'!

Nick,

Thanks,

That was the missing element. After I run my flight I'll go to the update site.

Regards.
