Cannot start SKYLANE 182

Hi please help!!!
I have just purchased the Skylane 182, however I cannot start the plane at all. Even with auto-start with the shift 3 menu
Also the maintenance hangar shows the plane having lots of faults and I am unable to repair them. (I press complete overhaul but nothing happens???)
I am a novice with computers and really do not know how to fix this problem.
All the default aircraft within prepar3d are fine. it is just the Skylane 182 that I purchased that will not start.
Please help me?

Hello Toby.
Welcome to the forum and A2A.
Firstly you must run the latest updater as administrator to update the model.
Here is the link to the updater.Open it and right click on the *.exe file and select run as administrator.Wait until it finishes.

Secondly you must read the manual found under your start menu,A2A/c182.Read how to manually start the aircraft.

This is not a jump in and fly aircraft you must check all your levels,fuel and oil,and do a walkaround check of the whole aircraft.

Hi thanks for your reply,
But this has not fixed the problem.
The Skylane will not start or turn over. The autostart option in the shift 3 menu also does nothing.
The maintenance hangar shows lots of problems and when I press the complete overhaul tab, nothing happens????

I have tried another A2A Plane which I purchased and the same problem persists with that one?
please could somebody help??

Have you run the updater as instructed by me?You may also need to reinstall simconnect.See the FAQ section.

P3D - Installed but nothing works and all is broken!?

P3DV2 sometimes wont install the required simconnect files. No worries though as they are provided by Lockheed in the following directory;
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib

Make sure your start up aircraft is a default aircraft and then change to an A2A aircraft after the start.You should never start flightsim with a complicated aircraft such as an A2A one.Please Please look at the FAQ and read the manual.

Excellent you will enjoy the realism of having an aircraft that pulls to the left or right dependant on propeller rotation and is affected by ground effect etc.Do a walk around prior to flying and treat it as a real aircraft.You will not regret it.

Yes certainly,
I realised i did not have Sim Connect. So i downloaded it from the Prepar3D program folder. Or you could download it from FSX program folder. Whatever platform you are using. It worked a treat and all is good.
