Serious complaint

Post by Oliver Branaschky »

I believe I will have to have a serious word with the owner of the local paint shop. All that new paint shop guy was supposed to do was paint a new registration on my shiny new C182. But look how he returned the plane:

That guy is dangerous!

Yeah - did he leave tape on the ports on both sides? And are you sure your cheque didn't bounce?

Actually, those texture files look a little screwy/misaligned Oliver: are you seeing the taped static port(s) all the time?

Cheers,

Nick, now that you mention it I see it too... I was so furious about the static port I didn't even realize the crappy paint job that guy did... Thanks, will have to try again.

Btw, now the cheque is definitely gonna bounce ;-)

Dont forget to turn off mip-maps too to get rid of the little blur you are seeing.

It's not that bad - just looks like some parts have got a bit displaced. For instance, the textures on the empennage seem to have slipped forward quite a bit. I wondered if this could have affected the textures for the static port tape too, but probably just a coincidence. I'm sure 'that guy' will sort it out!

Hehe. Definetly looks like the guy has either been in the paint booth without a respirator or he has had to much beer

If only... Turns out "that guy" moved the whole paint layer by accident and somehow it also passed quality checks like that...They missed the flag as well.

I honestly cannot recommend that paint shop. Not at all ;-)

I'm sure "they" can fix it. And then it'll look great!

Glad you - er, I mean "that guy" got it sorted Oliver. A word of warning though... The repainting thing can get under your skin if you don't watch out. I had to spend a month in rehab!

Guys, thank you for your support and ... ehr... warnings ;-)

That guy promised to fix it over the weekend, so I should be up and running by the beginning of next week.

Okay, guys, it's almost fixed. Now if someone could please be so kind as to teach that guy how to get the spinner to shine again, I'd be more than thankful. I looked that one up in the forums, but didn't find any explanation that makes any sense to me... I mean like at all...
