Weight and Balance
Weight and Balance
Wondering if the figures for weight and balance have been published yet. I found the basic empty weight but I can't find the empty moment or arm.
Re: Weight and Balance
Page 33 of the owners manual has the CG limits. I set up a quick and dirty xls spreadsheet using Excel 03 if anyone wants it. I haven't uploaded it anywhere yet but if anyones interested I will.
Thanks Mark
Re: Weight and Balance
Those CG limits define the range at which the plane can be operated. Weight times arm equals moment. I have the basic empty weight and now I need the basic empty arm or moment to do a proper weight and balance

Re: Weight and Balance
Can you confirm that our simulated aircraft shares BEW/CG location with the sample airplane from the manual, i e 1919 lbm/36.95 in? The mass is close (-1 lbm), so I guess it is - but I prefer not guessing at all.Scott - A2A wrote:This is from the Cessna 182T manual:

Yes, ours is based on the actual 182T with the steam gauges which is what that page is from.

CG dwg!
I'm sure you are aware that, "The FAA has consistenly interpreted §61.195(c) to permit instrument training only by a flight instructor who has an instrument rating on the flight instructor certificate". So that is a nice "feather in the cap".
Plus... no renewal for another 24 months.
