Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
My Joy was premature. After a few days off I returned to flightsim and the same issues arose.
I deleted the Cherokee 180 and reinstalled it from my Simmarket account. All is good with one exception and that is the inability to use Nose Control Steering.
This was apparently an earlier problem outlined in the forum and was to have been solved by installing the Accu-sim 10-12-17 update. I did download and installed the update but still no response from the Nosewheel. All my installations for ASA is default for P3D v4.1 (C:\Users\Rolf\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A)
The curious thing is that I have another A2A file in Documents that contains an Axis config file. C:\Users\Rolf\Documents\A2A\P3D\Cherokee180. I tried to upload a couple of pictures including the config file. But I don't think it worked. I appreciate your help.
Thanks you.
Rolf

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Hello Rolf,
uninstall the Cherokee and remove all left over files manually. Restart your system and then reinstall and run the updater.
Something on your system is causing you issues, but its hard to know what it is that's corrupting your control mappings.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Thanks for the help. I uninstalled the Piper Cherokee and removed all files. I reinstalled it and updated the files. Accu-sim.dll is located in the gauges file. All should work but the nose wheel continues to stay straight. Strange.

This sounds like your P3D installation may not have been updated to v4.1 properly.
Did you uninstall the v4.0 client before installing v4.1 as per the directions from LM?

Yes, I did uninstall the V4 client before installing the V.1 client.

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Hello Rolf,
It sounds like maybe the 10/12/2017 update didn't replace the "A2A_Accusim.dll" file for some reason. Did you get any confirmation or error messages when you ran the update?
Please can you take a look at this file (C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\Gauges\A2A_Accusim.dll) and confirm its "date modified" field. It should read 10/12/2017 using the MM/DD/YYYY date format.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Hi Nick, My date format is --- A2A_Accusim.dll 2017-10-12 4:04 pm Application extension 870KB
This is not what it should be according to your suggested format.
Thanks,
Rolf
p.s. I did not get any error messages.

Sounds like the file is successfully updated actually Rolf; just that you use YYYY/MM/DD and not the wacky US date format!Rolfspan wrote:Hi Nick, My date format is --- A2A_Accusim.dll 2017-10-12 4:04 pm Application extension 870KB

So the aircraft won't turn at all on the ground with rudder input, but otherwise behaves okay?
Nick
Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
That is exactly correct. all appears finer with he sole exception of the Rudder . The nosewheel does not turn.

Rolf

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
This is a strange one Rolf, because what you describe sounds exactly like the ground physics issue which was introduced in P3Dv4.1 and which the 10_12_2017 update resolved. However, have you double-checked that rudder inputs are working properly in flight?
Thanks,
Nick

Nick,
I took her up and she responds beautifully when turning. Once back on the ground we are limited to straight forward only.
Truly strange.

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Do you have any other A2A add-ons installed Rolf, and if so are you seeing the same issue with them? Also, is your rudder axis set within P3D or FSUIPC?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Not sure if it is related, but by chance is auto-rudder enabled?

Re: Puper Cherokee 180 - Control issues
Hi, Inused to have older A2A products installed but no longer after switching to P3D v4. This is the only Sim I have now after totally updating my computer. The 180 is the only A2A left. This will likely change once I get this sorted out. My Rudder Axis is controlled by P3D v4.1.
The auto rudder is not enabled.
Thank you everyone for your help.
