Hi Lewis,
I may not have done that. Would it be a good idea to uninstall v4.1 and reinstall it and then reboot.
I will do that when I get back home tomorrow afternoon. Thank you. Rolf

Some people have reported that they can only update via a full reinstall. I am wondering if your system falls into that area of having to run the full P3D 4.1 install rather than a 4.0 install and then a 4.1 client and optional content update.

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis, I just did a complete reinstall of P3D v4.1 following Elaine's instructions to the letter. The nosewheel still does not turn . I reinstalled both the aircraft and the update.
The other A2A planes I had in the past probably are not ready for 3D v4.1. I am just wondering whether it is the 180 alone and what would happen if I were to use the 182.
Ah well we tried just about everything there is to try. It is just not to be.
Thanks for your help.

Hello Rolf,

just to check upon uninstalling you are removing everything manually too, all left overs and the p3d folder etc?

thanks,
Lewis

Ok, and its just P3D 4.1 + the P3Dv4 (Not at earlier version) Cherokee that has been updated with the latest Accu-sim updater?

No extra software, no special control software, no FSUIPC or anything like that?

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis,
The Cherokee has been updated with the latest act-sim. I have FSUIPC but do not use it for control. We operated the Cherokee while disabling FSUIPC a while ago but it made no difference. I have Active Sky for P3D V4.1. I use Saitek hardware to control the planes. I run Active Sky for P3D v4.1.
All I have works fine with my other planes. This is curious.
Regards,
Rolf

Beyond curious - truly baffling this one!

Rolf - is there any chance you could capture a brief video clip showing this behaviour from both the inside and outside of the aircraft and upload it somewhere for sharing?

Thanks,
Nick

I've been watching this topic and scratching my head. Can you also name the control axis that the rudder pedals are mapped to?

My steering is mapped through Saitek Joystick (axis) not pedals.
I don’t know how to take a video. Can you point me to the learning center for videos?
Thanks
Rolf

The joystick twist axis is set to "rudder axis" in P3D presumably. Not "axis steering set"?

For the video, you could just use a mobile phone or similar to record a clip showing the monitor. Or if you have a fairly NVIDIA graphics card, ShadowPlay could be used, though this takes a bit of setting up.

Thanks,
Nick

A curious thing happened. I thought I would try connecting my Pedals and strangely enough the steering kicked in.
I disconnected the pedals reset the Rudder in axis and the steering will not work. So it appears that it has to do something with with the control settings. I dusted the pedals off checked the controls and the braking and steering is transferred to the pedals and all is well. I did not even have to
reset the axis controls for steering, I wonder if that was preset and contributed to my problems.
Thank you very much for your help.

Certainly an odd one Rolf (I think we first tried disconnecting hardware a while ago) but very pleased to hear it finally seems to be sorted. :)

All the best,
Nick
