Texture Resolution

Post by FreeBird »

Hi On all my A2a planes in V4 whenever I access the menus the Texture resolution changes to a lower number. So if I start at 4096 it will change down to 2048 and then the next time to 1024 and so on. I remember someone else a few weeks ago having the same issue. Is there a fix?

In the back of what passes for my memory I've read this is caused by an addon, NOT the A2A bird. And deleting the Prepar3d .cfg and allowing the sim to build a new one solves it.

Hello,

yes now Mallcott mentions it I seem to recall from the P3D forums that it was caused by users installing non P3Dv4 add-ons into P3Dv4 causing sim instability and issues with core cfg files.

thanks,
Lewis

Good to hear, you might want to follow a few of the threads on the Lockheed P3D forums to follow what causes it for you.

Hi Lewis I found the cause and the cure. Its like this if you save a flight with a a2a plane and then use it as the default the issue happens but if I use a default plane as the default and then switch to a A2A then the issue doesn't happen. Also I haven't installed anything but V4 ready stuff. So now I have my startup scenario with the Mooney and then in the interface change it to a A2A plane and start the sim and all is well.

Good to hear, you should never use any complex third party aircraft as your default flight due to issues with initialisation.

Thanks for the info. In all my years simming I never realized that. Its answers so mush to past issues too. Josh

Some users can use it fine for years and then all of a sudden they encounter issues, others always have issues so to be safe we make it a recommendation to not use it as a default flight to save potential troubleshooting frustration down the line.
