Hi Nick, I just did it. The Cherokee red beacon light works perfectly now. Thanks.

Now, if we can only get the rest of A2A's planes to work.

I know the 182 and Comanche need to be fixed. I haven't had a chance to look at the Connie or Texan and I can't remember if they even have red beacon lights.

Okay, thanks for the update Paul. You should also notice the nav lights and strobes are more visible.

I'm on it! You can already download the fix for the 182 here.

You're welcome Paul - it really is just a small edit to a few lines of text to make sure they don't reference a texture file which isn't installed on the user's machine. Here are corrected files for the Comanche and T-6. L-049 is fine as it stands as far as I can see.

Comanche corrected *.fx files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ezwpblkspr0gr ... x.zip?dl=0
T-6 Texan corrected *.fx files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aog7pmbeo73gx ... x.zip?dl=0

Cheers,
Nick

Thanks Nick, you are a programming genius. I know I could NEVER ever in a million years do what you do and to be honest I'm envious.

Very much grateful to have my A2A birds working properly now, the hangar guys never picked up on this.

Absolutely no programming involved in this fix Paul, just a few typos corrected in text config files but thanks for the kind words all the same! :)

Thanks Nick
i've checked at the moment

excellent analysis and very well inspired

there's only the problem left, on my side, that Cherokee, Comanche and T6 don't switch off the light when L key is pressed
no problem with C182 Skylane

Well now that Skyforce is released I am back in to P3Dv4, and see there still hasn't been an Accusim update for this issue. Hopefully there is one inbound in the not to distant future. I did read Nick's posts on it so at least it is a known issue.

No Accu-Sim update for this just yet Roadburner, but it's a pretty straightforward DIY fix if you download the file I linked here in the meantime.

Thanks,
Nick

Thanks Nick. I did download your file sets for the Cherokee, and 182. I see in that one you just linked you have one for the Comanche which I am currently flying without the beacon. I poked around my system looking for the effects files but for some reason they are not in my documents, they are on my P3D drive in the A2A folder. At that point I became a bit nervous and just left them alone. I will do as you suggested though and back up the originals just in case. Earlier too did not help I downloaded the link here so all it gave me was an HTML file, so goes to show I am not firing on all cylinders during my off time. Now that I got the proper FX files from drop box I will replace them.

Yeah, "Documents/Prepar3D v4 Add-ons" is just the default location; if you chose to install your A2A add-ons in another directory, that's where you should find the "effects" folder.

Let us know if you have any issues, but hopefully the next proper Accu-Sim update won't be too far off.

Figured I'd let you know it works great and I have my beacon again! Always making little baby steps closer to perfection with P3D. Thanks a lot!
