GTN 750

Post by pod265 »

Hi,

Can't install flight 1 GTN 750 into VC of Piper Cherokee. Have done all that is advised and still doesn't work.

Can someone tell me how to achieve the same by way of manually editing the panel.cfg.

Many thanks

Not without a LOT more information...

Sim?
System?
Version of GTN 750 being installed?
Is your Cherokee fully updated?

Doing WHAT `as advised`? There's a lot of duff advice out there.
The more specific you can be about what you HAVE tried, the quicker we can deduce what you haven't, or what you did wrong.

Ok. Here is some more information. FSX. Flight1 GTN 750. Piper Cherokee has been installed and uninstalledand reinstalled. Accusim has been updated. A2A configurator has been run as administrator and the GTN 750 chosen as my GPS. GTN 750 has also been uninstalled and reinstalled.

Can't think of anything else.

Thanks.

Resolved. Accusim update had reported as successful but hadn't been. Needed to delete old update file and then reinstall new one. Got there in the end!

Yes, a common mistake users make is to first try a reinstall for all problems even if a simple tweak or file change is needed. A total reinstall will nigh on never fix issues and can cause more issues as you note, without removing the update folder you then cannot update the aircraft again. A reinstall should only ever be last resort after troubleshooting the issue to correct it first.

thanks,
