Aircraft Configurator

Post by SpitfireMelodeon »

Hello Folks

Tricky one

New computer, win10 - FSX - i7 (is that enough info?)

All A2A installed perfectly except that the Cherokee has no aircraft configurator.
Brand new install after downloading from my vendor of the time.

I am told that the install was successful but the aircraft config is not with all the others in the 'All Apps' button on the start panel although the input configurator is there. Running a search does not find it.

This leads to the problem that when I run the updater - 01-17-17 - the Cherokee starts 'searching for updates' gets to 0.98/1.88kb and 'installing' 43% and then can go no further.

Uninstalled and reinstalled, no good.

Aircraft is, of course, in the sim OK.

So I think that I am safe in saying something is missing......

FSX was not running when I did the install.
All others OK

Cheers and Beers
Bill

That sounds very strange, try a new download and a new install of the Cherokee.

No luck Lewis

Even stranger is that I cannot uninstall from the control panel/programs and features.
It tells me that it may already be uninstalled.
I can only remove it from the list but the files are all still in the FSX folders seemingly intact

FSX... what?

SP1 and SP2 as a minimum.
Acceleration as option
Steam Edition.

You may need to install SimConnect.

Also did you install with Administrator privileges (right click on .exe and "install as...")

Now sorted

I managed to find the folder with the missing files and then simply copied them from my other computer.
Did the trick.

Thank you to Lewis and Mallcott for your help and input.

Oh yes, silly me Mallcott, it is Acceleration.

Cheers and Beers

Good to hear your up and running, but the case I guess for now will remain open. I have no idea how what happened could have happened from a pure impossible technical POV :? :?:

thanks,
Lewis
