GTN750 N/A

Post by pchamney »

Just won't load in the Cherokee. I had it working fine in all the A2A planes, but I had to reload windows after a crash. New disk, new install.
Installed FSX-SE on a separate drive along with all the ORBX and A2A stuff.
Long story short, GTN750 works in the Comanche for some reason, but doesn't show up as a choice in the Cherokee no matter what I do.
I ran the Cherokee Aircraft config and chose the GTN750.
I uninstalled the F1 stuff and didn't run their config as I know that can be a problem...
Re-installed F1 GTN750, re-installed the Cherokee and ran the updater.
Stumped.
N/A in the Accu-sim Cessna 172 as well.

Does anyone have any idea what files I can edit, or delete/replace to get the Cherokee to see the GTN750?

Thanks

After your reinstall did you run the A2A updater again?

Yes.
I'm guessing there's something in the /simobjects/aircraft/A2A~ folder I can edit but I'm not sure what.

Hello,

First of all, I'd suggest you manually remove the A2A 'update' folder (C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\A2A\Cherokee180\Update_fsx) then try re-running the Accu-Sim update. This should 'force' the updater to run and ensure the Cherokee is properly updated.

I believe the aircraft configurator works by swapping around various panel.cfg files. See this post for how to manually rename them.

You could also check out the post by Roland in that thread. It seems the problem in his case was caused by having the A2A aircraft saved in the default flight. It's generally recommended to keep a stock FSX aircraft such as the trike or C172SP for the default flight.

Thanks,
Nick

Thanks, I'll check it out shortly.
I always load an FSX stock Cessna at a stock airport (default flight) and then load the Cherokee.
I don't let FSX move the aircraft either. I'll see about removing that folder and updating again.
Thanks for the info. I'll report back soon.

Okay - good luck! :) I should probably add that the path of the update folder is more likely to be something like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\A2A\Cherokee180\Update_fsx.

Yeah, of course but I try to always post default paths to stuff in the forums to avoid causing too much confusion!

Yep, deleting the update folder and rerunning the accusim update fixed it.
Thanks everyone!
