Dome Lights do not illuminate cabin
Dome Lights do not illuminate cabin
Neither the Red or white light illuminate the cabin. However, they do turn on. Makes things very difficult at night. It worked at one time. Not sure what happened. Hoping that someone could help. Thanks.

Hello,
what simulator and platform are you using?
Are you all updated with the latest Accu-sim updater?
thanks,
Lewis

I'm having same trouble. Can't illuminate fuiel tank select switch on X-countries. Trying to get more night flying for (virtual)logbook.

Hey Charlie, ceparsons wrote: Can't illuminate fuiel tank select switch on X-countries.
I think you're just seeing the limited 'throw' of the modelled lighting; I've also found that the fuel tank selector isn't visible in darkness, even with the flood light on. The simple solution to avoid groping around with the mouse cursor is to assign the fuel tank selector to a keyboard or hardware shortcut.
An alternative might be using this payware add-on to simulate a flashlight: http://www.flightsimlabs.com/index.php/spotlights-2. I haven't tried it though.
Cheers,
Nick

I just checked, and that might be easier said than done actually Charlie, unless you have a registered copy of FSUIPC which gives better control over tank selectors?

I mentioned this in another thread. Have the same problem with my night flights in the 180, red or dome, beneath the dashboard, it's barely (if it all) visible.
ie., tank selection, parking brake, rudder trim, cabin temperature(s)
Fortunately, my cabin temperature controls are set thereabouts for "nice" from the last flight, and I can fish around for the tank selection and rudder trim, but after failing to find the parking brake in the dark, I had to look up the keystroke command (CTRL+period).

Nick, that worked! ! ! Never programmed FSUIPC before, but got it working. It seemed easy. . . . .Set up "F" key for right tank and "R" key for left tank.

Good stuff Charlie! Yeah, FSUIPC had some really useful control assignments which we don't see at all in the default FSX listing.
