Last week I changed over from FSX Accel to FSX-SE. The transition went well (Orbx, Realair, ASN, GTN 750, blah, blah... everything installed fine) until it was time for my A2A products. The Cherokee, 182, Comanche, and Accu-Feel all installed, and the aircraft updated to 4_16_16 just fine... except for the Cherokee. Its update failed with an error noting, "There is not enough space on the disk". Of course, there is more than 80GB still remaining on the install SSD. I installed using the "Cherokee180_FSX_v2.0" exe and tried a second download of the file but with the same results.
The Aircraft Configurator is not present for the Cherokee (I can't install the GTN in the aircraft), and the Input Configurator won't save settings (I can configure inputs but the app won't save them... the "Save and Update" button stays greyed out). Also, none of my four A2A products can be uninstalled using the standard Add/Remove feature of Windows... removal must be done manually (find everything related to a product and delete it). Finally, the A2A folder in the "Documents" folder was never created for any of my products... I had to create that folder and then copy over my saved files for each A2A product.
I have tried to copy over my previously saved Cherokee 180 aircraft folder but I lose interior sounds and GTN install (the window is there but no GTN). I used the same practice to copy over my 182 and Comanche folders without issues (all my repaints and addons are present and working for the 182 and Comanche).
System is a i7 4790K w/ GTX 970 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. All A2A products ran perfectly in FSX Accel. My FSX-SE directory is C:\FSX SE\steamapps\common\FSX, and all A2A installers have no problem finding the FSX.exe there. I have checked that the Steam cache is valid and the app is up-to-date, and the simulator runs just fine for me.
Hoping to get this sorted and the Cherokee back in the air. Thanks for any assistance.
Greg

Re: Diificulty installing Cherokee in FSX-SE
Hello,
did you restart the PC prior to installing and updating?
Is there any particular reason for not using the default steam path for your installation also?
thanks,
Lewis

Re: Diificulty installing Cherokee in FSX-SE
Hi Lewis,
In the past I did not reboot, but after having problems with the Cherokee install now I did try a reboot before installing and updating.
Regarding the install path, I just like to keep the sim separate from all other programs installed on the computer. I find it easier to manage, and (before encountering these problems) have not had any problems doing so.
Thanks,
Greg
