Yokes don't work and everything's red in the hanger

I have just downloaded and installed the Prepar3d version of the A2A Cherokee 180.

When I start P3D with one of the default aeroplanes, my yoke and throttle (Saitek X-55 HOTAS) work fine. But when I load a Piper PA-28 Cherokee 180 the yoke and throttle do nothing.

I have gone through the various pop-up screen's (e.g. Pilot's Notes - Shift + 2, Controls - Shift + 3, etc.) and cannot see anything obvious. When I get to the Maintenance Hanger (Shift + 7) everything is red and no amount of clicking the items does anything.

I have a wonderful new add-on and I can't use it!

I am using Prepar3d version 3.1.2.15831, my computer is an Intel Core i7 920 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 and 6Gb RAM.

Hello and welcome to the forums,

sounds like the normal simconnect issue. From the trouble shooting FAQ this should see you good in no time;

P3D - Installed but nothing works and all is broken!?

P3DV2 sometimes wont install the required simconnect files. No worries though as they are provided by Lockheed in the following directory;
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib

Dont forget the latest Accu-sim updater too!

Wonderful, thank you.

I did read that in the FAQ section, but was unsure how to "install the required simconnect files". All I needed was the nudge to go to that folder, I can see now there's a SimConnect.msi installer I need to run.

yes just run the program, restart the pc and away you go into the virtual big blue.
