Prepar3d v3 crashes upon selection of A2A plane

Post by speedbump »

Dear Tech Support,
Prepar3d v3 crashes after I choose any of the A2A vehicles I have installed. (It does not crash when I select any of the default Prepar3d v3 vehicles.) In addition, Prepar3d v2.5 now crashes before fully loading with the following error: "Prepar3d exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." (

Over this past weekend, I risked everything (a fully functional Prepar2d v 2.5 simulator with A2A's incredible Cessna 172, 182, and Piper Cherokee 180) by upgrading to Windows 10 and Prepar3d v3. I reinstalled A2A's Cessna 172, 182, and Piper Cherokee 180 by running the ZIP files I downloaded this past May. Then, I successfully applied the A2A_Update_10_03_15.zip to all three planes. Finally, I updated the video card drivers.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

I would recommend reinstalling the Direct X9 component.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... x?id=34429

If that fails assuming you did an upgrade to windows 10 without wiping files a reinstall might help fix any corruption encountered during the windows update process.

thanks,

Dear Lewis,

Thank you for your swift reply! I downloaded the dxwebsetup.exe that you pointed out, but the installer complained that I needed an earlier version of Windows to run it. After some more poking around, I found directx_Jun2010_redist.exe on Microsoft's site, which I downloaded and ran as Admin.

It appears to've worked.

Again, I appreciate your help with this aggravating problem!

I just encountered a similar issue. When I load my A2A C172 with Mindstar GNS430, it crashes P3D v3. I can load the version without Mindstar successfully. I haven't made any changes to P3D, A2A or Mindstar since the last time I used it successfully.

Any ideas?
