Re: lost my steering

Post by LouP »

Well, here's something weird. As a last resort I searched my entire PC for accusim and the first and so far only version it found was a back-up I have on a Western digital My-book Ultra II NAS that I use to back up critical files on my PC. Also, another one from an old FSX spitfire was found that came with a spitfire I purchased long ago. These items are strictly back-up files and are not actively used anymore but I hate to delete a backup (kind of defeats the use of backing up to begin with). The strange thing to me is that the "active" accusim I am trying to use hasn't even come up in the search yet. I would think that would be the first one to pop up.

So, is there some kind of enhanced security with the new accusim that "sees" these back-ups scattered around and preventing the active one from working. At this point, I'm not even sure where they all could be as I have several versions of FSX and FS2004 backed up. My PC has 6 drives over 1.5tb each and a 8tb NAS so I have no issues with drive space.

Once the search is complete, I am going to rename the back-ups and add the extension .old to them and see if that helps at all.

No, but the old backups you mention, I am wondering if you backup procedure is messing something up. But before we go into anything like that ive replied to your PM for you.

Roger that, Lewis. I have not proceeded with what I posted above as I am following through per our PM at this point. I uninstalled the 180 through the control panel, and deleted everything referencing the 180 in the my documents folder and the program data folder. Installed the 180 and everything looks good EXCEPT for the steering. Should I proceed with the accusim update at this point (fingers crossed)?

Hello,

yes, you'll want to run the update. And just to confirm you restarted your system between uninstall and re-install and that you used the P3Dv4 installer not the P3Dv2/3 one.

thanks,

Hi, Sorry just getting to this today and after the update we are in the same broken state as before. Anymore ideas? I turned on content error checking in p3d but don't see anything in regard to the 180 there.

Hello,

can you please let me know your system OS and ask if it is all updated?

Also can you please let me know if you have added P3D to your anti-virus software exception list so we know no other software is stopping anything from running.

thanks,

Replied to your email and PM. If you can reply here that would be grand.

Just for record on the forums I sent this in response to not just the email but LouP asking about simconnect as a worry he was not seeing the correct files in the correct places;

"Hello,

Simconnect you just have to double click on this file to run it;
SimConnect.msi

The file is located here;
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib

Once run, restart the PC.

Ive just emailed you my .dll also so I know you have a working one.

thanks,
Lewis - A2A"

Fingers crossed this gets us a step closer to you flying Lou.

Hi all, the last update worked ok in the 180 but we were back to square 1 with the steering as the plane did not turn well at all as with the original accusim. What I mean by that is that it has an extremely large turning radius and hardly turns at all. If I back taxi down a runway it takes many three point turns to get into a position for take off.

Hi Lewis,

The last one I got from you was on 2/26/18. Is that the latest one? I checked my spam and did not see it there either
