Repaint Livery Issue P3Dv4

Post by Bman. »

Hey All-

I feel like a chump for even asking this. I took a few year hiatus from simming to work on my real world PPL and instrument ticket. Now that I am getting closer to instrument check ride, I thought it a good idea to install all the latest and greatest P3Dv4 stuff.

Fast forward a day or two and I am plugging in some liveries the way I always have. I copy the texture files over to the SimObjects folder (in A2A folder in this case) and I update the aircraft.cfg.

The new liveries don't show up in the list or anywhere else for being named something weird. Am I missing something about how P3Dv4 indexs these planes? Is there something different about A2A aircraft since the simobject folder is in the A2A folder and not the root P3D folder?

Thanks for the help-
Benjamin

Double check your cfg entries as the procedure is the same for P3Dv4. I'd guess you just have a typo somewhere, probably the cfg.

,.. actually if its an older repaint it might need a cfg edit to fit in with the latest version. Double check the cfg entries against the defaults.

You are correct -there was something up with the .cfg. I copied a default configuration from above and replaced the relevant data. Presto, the new liveries showed up. I didn't look to see what the discrepancy was but will look closer should it happen again. Point it, the .cfg was jacked up as you suspected.

Thanks for the quick reply.
