Power off pitch-up

Post by ollifreund »

Hi there,

I have some hours on the PA28 and I feel the flightsim recreation of the
plane is well done. However, I am surprised the plane pitches up when
I retard the throttle. I don't remember seeing this on the real aircraft,
it should actually pitch down.

Why is this?

I have never experienced this with the Cherokee sim. I would double check control mappings as you might have some other control mapped to the throttle.

Welcome to the forums ollifreund.

I can't say I've noticed this behaviour either. Please can you give us a bit more information on your sim setup, particular on which host simulator you're using.

In any case, unless you're using Prepar3D v4.0, you should download the latest Accu-Sim update from here.

Thanks,
Nick

I don’t have experience with the RW PA28 but it would not surprise me if the plane would pitch up a little bit as soon as power is taken back. Many planes with fixed gear will slightly pitch down as long as the engine supplies power. As soon as power is taken back, the aircraft will return to its original position. In RW that will be hardly to see, but on the screen you have the reference of the screen.

Are you also seeing the aircraft pitch up when you reduce power?
