Will, you're in the correct hemisphere but around 2,000 nautical miles too far south. :)

I'll drop a hint: The city's one and only aerial lift bridge (visible in the right-hand corner of the screenshot I posted) is a prominent landmark visible from just about anywhere, still functions and serves its navigational purpose and subject to a LOT of photographs and postcards.

Edit: Nice guess though -- Panama is something I'd like to see as well. :)

You got it. :)

One of the neat parts of this city is that it's on one of the numerous sites in the region that were, up until around 100,000 years ago, covered up by hundreds of meters of solid glacier. The entire region is full of small lakes and ridges in the land where the glaciers advanced and retreated over hundreds of millenia; all the while pushing the land underneath it back and forth like a garden rake. While a good portion of the city is on level ground (downtown, Canal Park (where the lift bridge is) and the docks), the remainder of the city forms the rather steep slope cradling the city to the west and north.

Driving up and down the roads that scale this grade can be challenging especially in winter.
