Panel Shake

Post by Ridgeskimmer »

Hi, I thought i had an issue with the C172 panel "shimmering" where my other aircraft don't. I have now realised that this happens after engine start and therefore i believe, from a bit of searching, may well be to simulate vibration from the engine. If this is the case can it be turned off so that i can read the instruments a little more clearly?
Thanks

Hello,

the vibrations in the model simulation are programmed in and cannot be changed, you will be able to change the vibrations dependant on your use of the simulation though just as with real life.

Oh that's a shame. It's a great product but this spoils it for me and my set up, instruments become unclear to read particularly finer detail such as barometric pressure. You can read that in the real world, i fly them!.... a setting in the panel config would be handy to turn this feature off

Perhaps you’re missing a cylinder or two if it’s shaking that much!

Could also be a big nick in the prop. How did it look during the walk-around pre-flight inspection?

Yes as others mention the effect is extremely subtle you shouldn't have any vision issues unless you have engine issues or aircraft issues causing vibrations which as in the real world should be picked up on the pre-flight walk-around or checked out as soon as the engine is started, acts incorrectly and potentially fails the run up checks.

Thanks, I put it in the workshop and did overhaul and it says like brand new! So therefore shouldn’t be the prop should it?

No you should be good then, do you use any camera movement mods that might be moving your eye-point to exaggerate the effect?

No I just adjust the eyeliner view for best position. Maybe I’ll just have to get used to it.
Thanks
