P3Dv4 Com1 Com2 doesn't store FRQ using program function

Post by gege21 »

Hello,

Just went few days ago to switch from FSX to P3Dv4 Academic. Three aircrafts already purchased for FSX only (C172/C182/Connie) again purchased for P3Dv4.

Back to the subject : on the C172/C182 planes I try to use the programming channels function on the radio Com/Nav like explained on the A2A videos dated from 3 years ago on A2A YouTube channel, and can't get registered/memorized my usual frequencies. Althought this procedure works well on the C172/C182 A2A for FSX aircrafts platform and have no problem to get memorized each frequency I save.

Running P3Dv4 each time I launch a new flight using a C172 or C182 A2A, starting all the needed procedures to run a flight, I can't get back the memorized frequencies on the Com's radios from the last flight. When I use the programming mode, I get a dashed line on the radio com display channel and not my previously memorized frequencies. All the 32 channels are empty while the Com1.txt and Com2.txt files are filled with frequencies (about 10 or 12 I don't remember). Then I can memorize again some frequencies and that works along the flight but closing the simulator and restarting it again with a new flight with these aircrafts I get the same glitch. The process to memorize frequencies on channels don't works when closing P3Dv4.

For P3Dv4 my C172/C182 are in the default P3Dv4 Addons folder on the C: drive and my P3Dv4 program is installed on another SSD drive.

I already view that this C172 have had a fix Accusim update for the same glitch.

Looking inside the A2A folder for the two files Com1.txt and Com2.txt there are some frequencies registered too but by default not mine I have memorized during my active flight.

Some help greatly appreciated

Cheers
Gerard

Hello Gerard,

This is a known issue that was first raised just a few days ago in this thread.

Hopefully a fix will come with the next Accu-Sim update.

Thanks,
Nick

Hello and thanks Nick M for the heads up,

As I don't read all the previously posts (so many pages to read) and don't found with the search function...

I had only read the 24 pages from the thread P3Dv4 owners but nothing related to this glitch...

And yes this glitch seemed to be there as a Accusim update (don't remember which version) reported a fix for this particular glitch.

Is there a way to workaround this little annoying glitch by moving the default P3Dv4 A2A addons folder to another place on the hard drive may be could solve this issue ?
I don't know but will test it as may be some P3Dv4 default folders are in read only mode and doing so the A2A addons couldn't store the infos properly ?!

Cheers

I'm not sure this is something that can be solved by the end-user Gerard, though maybe if your P3Dv4 installation mirrored the old way of doing it in FSX/P3D (i.e. without a separate 'add-ons' directory) it would work.

However, as you noted the gauge isn't reading from the existing "Com1.txt" or "Com2.txt" files. In other words, I don't think it's just an issue with writing files to this location.

Thanks,
Nick

Yes well received Nick M I tested to move the A2A folder to another location out the default P3Dv4 Add'ons as explained in the sticky post by A2A crew, and nothing better. The radio display program channel is still empty.

I give up waiting a potential update in the near future.

Thank you for your participation on this discussion. and your report and point of view about this glitch.

Have nice flights and take good time playing with the new P3Dv4 on A2A aircrafts board.

Cheers

Yes, I think waiting for the update is the best plan Gerard; just means a little bit more manual tuning for the next few days or weeks! Good flights to you too...

Hello dears flightsimmers and real flyers,

Any news for an update to fix this issue ?

Now I'm playing only with P3D v4.2 at this time, so since this issue appeared, I presume some researches and work were done from the A2A side...

Still waiting for a fix on this issue.

Whatsoever this don't prevent to play with A2A aircrafts but regarding the quality of these aircraft addons, I expected much from A2A coders may be am I asking too much ?!

Cheers

Hello,

here have been some delays getting the next update out as we have some big changes coming. We are working as fast as we to get these and other changes and free updates out to you. We are now also waiting to hear back from Lockheed an a separate bug that shipped with P3D4.2

Hello dear Lewis,

Yes I understand the delay to put out a very well and good update; but I begin to be annoyed to set every flight the memory channel to suit my common frequencies on the radio com.

Anyway thank you very much to response as I can wait for a surprisingly and planed update. Now I'm aware this is coming soon.

Have a nice day.

Cheers
Gerard
