Won't start in P3dv4

Post by mrrm1st »

Hi

I have downloaded the p3dV4 version and all was well for my first flight. However, since then I have been unable to start the C172. I have done an overhaul in the hangar and gone for a straight auto-start several times, but even then it just stutters and chokes before giving up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but that made no difference.

I have included the settings as per the manual e.g. auto-mixture off etc.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Rick

Hello,

is the pre-flight all good?

How are you loading the aircraft?

Does auto start under shift + 3 panel work ok?

Have you made any changes to your systems controls or control software that might be causing mis mappings like fuel cut off, mixture axis etc.

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Rick,

In addition to Lewis's suggestions, it may be worth checking the maintenance hangar for simulated spark plug fouling.

You could try opening the throttle a bit more when you try to start the engine. You can also change the plugs to the "fine wire" variants in the hangar, assuming you don't find another culprit for the issue.

When you prime the engine, are you seeing fuel flow registering on the gauge?

Thanks,
Nick

I tried it again tonight and everything worked fine, all by itself.

I had done walk around checks and I had done the complete overhaul a few times in the hangar, changed the plug and battery and it wouldnt auto-start under shift+3 before.

Now its starting and purring, so whatever was upsetting it before has sorted itself out.

Thanks for the help guys.

Okay, thanks for the update Rick - always good to get a reply, even if just to say it's "sorted itself out". :)

Cheers,
Nick
