Pop Up gauge for Avionics Suite C172

Hi. I use overhead projector for main view FSX and a second monitor for gauges etc. I drag the GNS400 onto the second screen. I would like to drag the avionics suite to this screen or at least the A/P.
Can this be done? I can't find anything in the forum.

Hello Mike,

if you are not creating your own gauges or using any software gauges you will need to either create a new camera view or use the [ and ] keys to create undocked views in a saved flight.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried creating a new window in the format :-

etc. but I can't solve it.

Can you help with the coding for the panel CFG file please?

As far as creating a new Camera view I have never done it but have been reasonably successful in modifying panel CFG's in the default FSX aircraft and some addons.

My objective is to be able to at least drag the A/P to a second monitor.

Before creating a new one, have you checked what we included already with the VC view cycle?

Yes I have Lewis and i can get better views of the A/P and Radios in VC but I don't know how to drag the A/P to the second monitor which is my preferred way of flying. Can it be done with the C172?

Hello,

use the default [ and ] keys to create a new window, then undock it. Set the view up as required and then move and full screen to where you want it. Once done save the flight. We did this during the recent Oshkosh for our Three TV setup and it works great as the saved flight saves the docked views on the screens.

Thank you for your quick replies. I am not sure what you mean use the default [and] keys to create a new window. I use those keys to create a new window in the panel cfg file but I have been unsuccessful in doing this in the A2A C170. Can you help me with that please?

I can use the available views to get something I can move to the second screen but ideally I would like to just move the A/P.

Sorry you misunderstand. Ignore the editing of files and going full tech. Just load up the sim and when in the sim press [ and ]. These are the default keys to create new windows in the sim.

I have achieved that and my flight experience is better. However my objective was to achieve a pop up for the A/P just like the GNS400. I will keep trying.

Hello,

the kind of old style pop up you need doesn't exist unless you create one yourself. You can just use the [ and ] method though which will look better and be easier to setup.
