Modifying interior sounds for Cockpit->Cockpit view (P3D v3)

Hi All,

I realize that most users appear to run the a2a 172 in virtual cockpit mode. (Views->Cockpit->Virtual Cockpit) In my situation I would like to use the "Views->Cockpit->Cockpit" mode for my 3 primary horizontal displays. I then have a separate monitor that runs a 2-D instrument panel. My understanding is that this is still an "interior" view so I was expecting the associated sound profiles to be the same for each of these views.

The issue that I'm running into is that the sounds between each of these views are different. As follows:

Views->Cockpit->Virtual Cockpit = Full sound, nice and loud.
Views->Cockpit->Cockpit = Muted, difficult to hear. There is engine sound, but it is barely audible.

My guess is that this sound difference is by design, but I was hoping that it is possible to "assign" the sound profile from the "Views->Cockpit->Virtual Cockpit" view to the "Views->Cockpit->Cockpit" view. Is it possible to do this via the config files? I am new to sim building, P3D and this aircraft so I apologize in advance if this has an obvious answer that I should know. (I did perform many searches in an attempt to figure this out before posting.)

Thank you for responding. I had read that post, but I wasnt sure that it applied to my situation. (I'm still not, but hopefully you can clarify.)

Please note that I am not using any type of 2-D cockpit view made available through the a2a 172 aircraft. I am using air manager to create my 2-D instrument panel. The only actual P3D "view" being used is "View->Cockpit->Cockpit". I should have made that more clear.

I could be wrong, but I dont believe that modifying the PANEL.CFG file as detailed in the link will produce any changes in my configuration. Is that correct?

You will want to be using 2d cockpit view for simpit building, though of course ideally VC is the preferred view. For our flight training clients new views where built specifically for there motion simulations.

Hi Lewis,

Just to confirm:

1) Is it possible to assign the sound profile associated with the "Views->Cockpit->Virtual Cockpit" view to the "Views->Cockpit->Cockpit" view?

2) Can you please point me to any documentation that may exist related to this 2-D Cockpit view that you are referencing? (Outside of the post that you linked to below.) This is not one of the views that I have available by default so I am unclear how to enable it and/or work with it.
